Program Description:

European Innovation Academy

EIAEIA (European Innovation Academy) is an extreme entrepreneurship program as students from all over the globe form diverse teams to take an idea to a tech start-up in 15 days. Students are mentored by global experts in IT, design, marketing, intellectual property, and pitching. Students will also have life coaches and investors (including those from Silicon Valley) to help them and their team’s idea to develop. Weekdays are spent working on your startup from late morning to early evening. Weekend days allow for you to explore the area. Learn more here and in the 2017 EIA Playbook (The 2018 EIA Playbook will be available in March.).

To be eligible for this program students must participate in in the UWGB Student Business Idea Competition or the Innovation in Aging competition and meet with Professor Ryan Kauth, the program leader. Details on eligibility and how to enter are found in the online application materials.

For more information please look at these flyers:  Innovation in Aging Flyer 2018.pdf or WBIT 2018 poster for UWGB.pdf

The Cofrin School of Business will award top placers in these competitions a scholarship covering the EIA program fee (equivalent of €1,899 Euro).  Students must have complete applications to the EIA program to be eligible.

Program Dates:  July 13th- August 4th, 2018

portgualThe setting for 2018 is in two cities- Estoril and Cascais, which are 20 minutes by train (toward the coast) from Lisbon, Portugal.  Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by centuries.  It is also the westernmost city in Europe and is the only on the Atlantic coast.  With a population of around 550,000, this city has something for everyone.  From historical buildings and towers to beaches to modern aquariums there is always something to explore!

Students will share local accommodation with other EIA participants in hotels or student housing for the duration of the program.  Accommodation costs vary, see EIA website for details.
